The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia has released a list of tax reliefs for the 2021 tax year!
According to the Malaysian Income Tax Act 1967, whether you are a Malaysian citizen or a foreigner, as long as you live in Malaysia for more than 182 days a year and have income, you are obliged to file a tax return.
How is the 2022 tax relief program calculated?
Several new items have been added to the list of tax deductions for tax year 2021:
- One of them is to buy premiumLifeCategory of sports equipment and fitness, additional tax deduction of RM500.
Other ongoing tax relief programs, including:
- Tax relief up to RM3 for parents who send their children to pre-school or nursery, up to 3000 tax relief;
- RM1,000 tax relief for those travelling within Malaysia;
- And an additional RM2,500 tax deduction for the purchase of electronic products.
