Employers can apply to the Social Security Department of Malaysia for the Employment Protection Scheme (ERP) of RM600 per month starting from April 1, 2020. The responsible agency has also released the application conditions and procedures.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muyudin announced the aid program on March 16, 2020, which provides a RM600 job security scheme to employees who need to take unpaid leave and whose monthly income is less than RM4,000. It is also part of the economic stimulus plan.
It was announced for the first time that for employees who need to take unpaid leave, the government will provide a subsidy of RM600 for a period of 1 to 6 months to help employees get through this difficult time.
ERP subsidy RM600 application conditions
The Social Insurance Board of Malaysia proposes that employers or employees who want to receive assistance of RM600 per month must meet the following 4 conditions:
- （1）被告知，从2020年3月1日起，无薪假期的雇员（ 至少30天的无薪假期）。
- (2) Employment Insurance System (EIS) payers only.
- (3) Only employees with monthly salary below RM4,000.
- (4) All applications must be made on behalf of the employer.
How to apply for ERP subsidy RM600
The application procedure is as follows:
- (1) Employers can apply from April 4
- (2) Fill out the ERPC-19 form
- (3) When submitting the application, you must attach a list of employees who have been notified of paid leave
- (4) Finally, email the ERPC-19 form and the list of employees with paid unpaid leave notice to [email protected].
- (5) The employer must remit RM7 directly to the employee’s account within 600 days from the date of receipt of the aid to avoid legal liability.
