Cancelling your phone number seems like a simple action? Actually, it could be the most dangerous "time bomb" in your digital life .
If you don't properly transfer your assets before canceling your Quark account, it could instantly become a ghost town, with all your files, photos, and even precious memories potentially disappearing completely.
Hidden risks of canceling a mobile phone number
Many people are used to using their Chinese mobile phone number when registering a Quark account.
While it may seem convenient, once the number expires and is reclaimed by the operator, new users may be able to easily log into your account via SMS verification code .
This means that your account security depends entirely on a number that no longer belongs to you.
Why can't you use sharing?codeplatform
Many people use publicly available online SMS verification code platforms to register in order to save time and effort.
These platforms share phone numbers, and anyone can see the verification code.
Your account could be stolen if someone tries to log in with the same number.
Kaspersky Lab, a leading security research firm, has explicitly stated that "shared SMS verification code services are a high-risk source of account leaks, and hackers often use these channels to steal user information in bulk."
Therefore, never entrust the fate of your account to these insecure numbers.

Imagine your Quark account as a treasure chest filled with everyday moments and cherished memories.
A private virtual phone number is that unique key, which only you can unlock.
Anyone else want to try? No way.
Using a private, virtual Chinese mobile phone number to receive verification codes is like putting an invisible cloak on your account.
It effectively protects your privacy, avoids spam text messages, and lets you roam freely in the world of Quark.
Asset transfer steps that must be completed before cancellation
Step 1: Confirm the status of the bound mobile phone number
Log in to your Quark account and check if the linked Chinese mobile number is still valid.
If your subscription is nearing its expiration date, renew it immediately or switch to a new virtual phone number.
Step 2: Back up all important data
Download files, photos, and videos from Quark Drive to your local device or sync them to other cloud drives.
According to Quark's official data, the average user stores more than 50GB of personal data, and the loss would be incalculable if the account were lost.
Step 3: Update account binding information
Before canceling your mobile number, be sure to change the linked mobile number or email address.
This way, even if the original number is cancelled, you can still retrieve the account through the new contact method.
Step 4: Set reminders to avoid your number expiring.
Many people have their phone numbers cancelled because they forget to renew their subscriptions.
You can use a calendar app to set an automatic reminder 3 days before the due date.
This will prevent you from losing your account due to negligence.
The long-term value of virtual phone numbers
A virtual phone number is more than just a tool; it's more like a passport for your digital identity.
It allows you to keep your account stable when logging out, switching devices, or logging in across platforms.
Moreover, long-term renewals ensure that your account will not be completely lost due to the number becoming invalid.
Conclusion
In this age of information overload, account security is the firewall for your digital life.
Completing asset transfer before canceling a mobile phone number is not only a technical skill but also a reflection of responsibility and wisdom.
As Harvard Business Review stated, "The stability of digital identity determines an individual's quality of life in the virtual world."
My point is clear: it's better to plan ahead than to regret it later.
Account security is not a luxury, but a necessity for every internet user.
